Request deletion
Sign in to confirm the account is yours, then type the confirmation phrase. We ask you to sign in because deletion is irreversible and we will not act on an unverified request against someone else's account.
Your deletion request has been received.
What happens next
The request is queued and processed in an overnight batch, in your own time zone, rather than at the moment you press the button. Your account is marked for deletion immediately and you will not be able to sign in and use it in the meantime.
Deletion runs across each Chokla service that holds data about you, one step at a time, and each step is retried if it does not succeed first time. That is why the request has a status rather than completing instantly.
What is deleted
Your profile and account record, your membership and tier history, the assets and content associated with your account, your inbox and notifications, and your club and merchant relationships.
What we have to keep
Some records cannot be deleted on request because the law requires us to keep them. These are set out in full in the Privacy Notice, and in summary:
- Redemption and transaction records — retained for the statutory accounting period applicable in our country of incorporation, then deleted.
- Checkout and scan evidence — the record that a redemption actually happened, kept as part of those transaction records.
- Security, access and fraud logs — up to 12 months, longer where an incident is under investigation.
- Support correspondence — 24 months from the case closing.
Records we keep for these reasons are no longer used to profile you or to market to you, and are deleted or irreversibly anonymised once the retention period ends.
If your request is blocked
If you own an active club, deletion cannot proceed while that club still depends on your account — deleting it would remove the club from under its own members. Transfer ownership or close the club first, then request deletion again.
The same applies if you hold merchant roles that are assigned to other people. Reassign them and retry.
Deleting from the app
If you still have the Chokla app installed you can do the same thing from Settings → Delete Account. It is the same request and the same process; this page exists so that you do not need the app to make it.
If you need help
If you cannot sign in, or your request will not go through, contact us from the contact section and we will handle the request manually. We may ask you to verify your identity before we act on it.
